THE TOP 5 SOCIAL NETWORKS TO GROW YOUR COACHING BIDNESS IN 2024

Hey look, the end of 2023 is upon us, and it's time to plan ahead.
My own advice to all coaches and consultants is that social media marketing, as cliche as it might have become in some circles, should be your TOP marketing method.
I've talked elsewhere about the social media wars that are sprouting around us, and why that's not terribly bad for marketers. But in an age where the half life of your favorite social platform could be as short as a Netflix series, you need to pick your bets wisely.
Here are my own recommendations for the ABSOLUTE top 5 social platforms every coach or consultant should prioritize in 2024:
1. YouTube - we're increasingly a video world. This was unthinkable in the early days of the internet, but now the high costs of video have plummeted and video rules the day.
2. LinkedIn - this is the professional's social network. Your clients and their clients are to be found there. Don't miss the party because you were too in love with Facebook.
3. TikTok - so far TikTok has managed to avoid being regulatory roadkill. I don't know how long they can stay ahead of regulators in the jurisdictions where legislators and public administration officials have called for TikTok bans, but if they do, they will be for sure an enduring star in the social network world.
4. Medium - leaders are readers, and few platforms are as pot committed to the written word as Medium is. And they have almost no competition. By avoiding the crowded video content space, they've built a really committed audience of writers and readers. But I'd prefer to see more ads on Medium. What, have I gone nuts? I'm a marketer, not a civilian - to me seeing ads on a platform assures me they're making some money and will be around for a long time. If a platform can't monetize properly, their competitors are gonna kill em, eventually. I hope Medium survives.
5. X, formerly known as Twitter. This is a platform to watch for the long run. Elon Musk is a bit unpredictable. I sure hope he don't turn the platform into another dating app. After all, smart kids out there are probably using Twitter for their school's research project. And let's hope he doesn't start asking for biometric information. This has the promise to be a heavy weight in the social network game, something it hasn't been in recent years!
And there you have it. 5 social media platforms to rock 2024 if you're a coach or consultant!
